Jeff Koons: Artist or Art Con Man?

Jeff Koons: Artist or Art Con Man?

Jeff Koons is a successful, contemporary artist whose work holds the record for the highest price paid at auction during the artist’s lifetime.  (US$91 million for his 1986 sculpture, Rabbit, in 2019)  But Koons is controversial due to his art-making practices, his “crass commercialism” and self-promotion.  We’ll explore his background, influences, major works and recent licensing efforts.

Join us for a lively discussion as we resume in-person meetings and a zoom option for those who prefer to not meet in person.

The meeting will be held at the GFS Social Room at 47 W Coulter Street in Germantown.
