VIOLET OAKLEYViolet Oakley was a pioneering American artist of the 20th century who had a significant influence on the cultural landscape of Philadelphia.  As one of the first women to achieve national recognition as a muralist, her work adorns public spaces both near and far, including the Pennsylvania Capitol building in Harrisburg and multiple sites in Germantown.  Learn more about this prolific artist and enjoy the opportunity to see some of her work up close and in person!

Presenter/Host:  Kate Garrity is the Director of Friends Free Library and a new member of the Science and Art Club of Germantown.
