For many people growing up in the 1950s and 1960s, the trial and execution of the Rosenbergs was a travesty of justice. More recent research has changed that verdict of spying We have also learned of other spies at Los Alamos and in the British secret service. We also have had our attention turned back to the 1950s by the success of the film Oppenheimer. This presentation will present a picture of those days.
Larry Schofer received his Ph.D. in history from the University of California, Berkeley. He taught at the University of Pennsylvania in the 1970s and later had several employment careers. His last career was as a translator of legal, technical, and medical documents into English from French, German, Polish, and Hebrew.
