The Sculptural Practices of Giuseppe Penone

Presentation: This talk will focus on the sculptural practices of the contemporary Italian artist Giuseppe Penone. His art reveals his deep connection to nature’s processes and his thoughtful attention to the interactions between our bodies and the world around us. 

Presenter: Greer Pagano is an educator, an independent curator and art historian based in Philadelphia. Most recently she has taught Art History at Moore College of Art and Design and Columbus College of Art and Design. She was previously Chief Curator at the Pizzuti Collection in Columbus, Ohio and has also worked at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Her most recent exhibition, focusing on the work of Philadelphia-based painter Becky Suss, was held at the Contemporary in Dayton, Ohio this past winter. Greer Pagano received a Masters in Museum Education and her PhD in Art History from Ohio State University with a dissertation on the early career of Giuseppe Penone.
